Penn State’s Ajani Dwyer was named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week on Apr. 8, marking his second consecutive week receiving this honor.

Dwyer’s recognition comes after his performance at the Pepsi Florida Relays, where he finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.06 seconds. This achievement follows his previous week’s result at the UCF Knights Invite, where he ran a season-best 9.96 seconds in the same event.

At the Pepsi Florida Relays, Dwyer outpaced a field of 49 runners. His winning time placed him ahead of runner-up Neo Mosebi from Florida State, who finished with a time of 10.12 seconds and is noted as last season’s Atlantic Coast Conference champion in this event.

Dwyer’s success continues an impressive start to his outdoor season, having competed in two events and finishing first each time. He has now been named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week following both competitions.

Penn State is scheduled to compete next at Bucknell’s Bison Outdoor Classic over the upcoming weekend.
