Junior Alex Creamean earned NCAA Division I PING All-Northeast Region honors as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on May 30.

The Golf Coaches Association of America annually recognizes NCAA Division I collegiate players across six regions: Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West. Creamean received his second consecutive All-Northeast Region recognition, becoming the 95th overall Nittany Lion honoree and the 25th to be recognized on multiple occasions since the 1992-93 season.

During the past season, Creamean led his team with a stroke average of 70.97 over 10 tournaments and 29 rounds, improving by more than two shots from his previous campaign. He recorded three top-10 finishes and two top-5 finishes. His best result came at the Moraine Intercollegiate where he tied for second at seven-under-par (206). At the Canadian Collegiate Invitational to open the fall season, he finished tied for fifth at eight-under-par (208), which was his best score relative to par during the year.

Although he experienced a decline in performance toward the end of the season, Creamean still achieved six top-20 finishes in ten events and concluded the Big Ten Championship tied for 23rd place at four-over-par after posting a final round score of three-under (67).

Creamean finished six out of ten tournaments this season at even par or better. The GCAA’s Northeast Region covers more than fifty NCAA Division I programs from Maine to Washington, D.C., making it the region with the largest number of schools.
