Penn State field hockey head coach Hannah Prince announced on Mar. 23 the addition of Allison Bitting as Director of Field Hockey Operations for the Nittany Lions.
Bitting’s appointment is significant as she joins Prince’s inaugural coaching staff, bringing both experience and leadership from her time as a player at Louisville. Her background is expected to contribute to the development and organization of the Penn State field hockey program.
Prince said, “We are thrilled to welcome Alli Bitting to our staff as Director of Operations. I had the privilege of coaching Alli at Louisville, where she was one of the best leaders and captains I’ve ever coached. She brings a rare combination of motivation, organization, and genuine care for those around her. I have no doubt she will make an immediate impact on our program, and I’m incredibly excited to have her on board.”
Bitting had a decorated playing career at Louisville, earning recognition such as ACC Field Hockey Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2021, ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2021, membership on the NCAA All-Tournament Team that same year, selection to three NFHCA All-American teams, four NFHCA All-West Region honors, three All-ACC selections and three appearances on the ACC All-Tournament team. She graduated from Louisville with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration in 2021 and minors in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems.
Before joining Penn State field hockey staff officially, Bitting was hired by Penn State’s Nittany Lion Club as Stewardship Coordinator in July 2025.
