Motorists in Montoursville, PA, should prepare for an automated truck warning system installation on Route 15 southbound in Williamsport, Lycoming County. The project aims to reduce truck rollovers in the area known as the spur in Williamsport. Starting Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Bruce-Merrilees Electric Company will begin work approximately 0.4 miles south of the West Fourth Street interchange.

The project involves installing conduit, overhead signs, and a curve warning system on the ramp connecting Route 15 Southbound to I-180 Eastbound. Similar installations will occur on Route 15 Southbound, including vehicle detectors. Motorists should expect alternating lane restrictions during nighttime hours from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday evening through Friday morning.

Bruce-Merrilees Electric Company is the prime contractor for this $880,000 project. The work includes overhead signs, electrical conduit, vehicle detectors, and flashing beacons at locations such as Route 15 southbound and Route 220 Southbound exit ramp in Williamsport. Completion is expected by fall 2025, weather permitting.

Motorists can check road conditions via www.511PA.com or use the free smartphone application available for iPhone and Android devices. Additional information about PennDOT projects can be found at www.penndot.pa.gov/District3 and www.projects.penndot.gov.
