Angel Diaz-Gibson of Reading, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on May 4 to 262 months in federal prison followed by ten years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines handed down the sentence. Diaz-Gibson, age 34, was convicted after authorities presented evidence that he conspired with others between June and August of 2024 in the Western District of Pennsylvania to distribute at least 40 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl and at least 500 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine. The court also heard that in July 2024, Diaz-Gibson possessed with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and more than 40 grams of fentanyl.
Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon prosecuted the case for the government.
Rivetti said, “United States Attorney Rivetti commended the Pennsylvania State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Diaz-Gibson.”
The sentencing reflects ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania to address drug trafficking offenses involving dangerous substances such as fentanyl and methamphetamine.
