Representative Brendan Boyle, who has served Pennsylvania’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2015 and previously represented his community in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, has recently addressed several national policy issues on social media. Boyle, a Philadelphia native and University of Notre Dame graduate, commented on healthcare legislation, his legislative effectiveness ranking, and recent actions by the Trump administration.

On July 13, 2025, Boyle criticized proposed healthcare changes by stating that “Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill will hurt Americans from coast to coast. In Nebraska, a health clinic is already closing because of his Medicaid cuts. Republicans knew this would happen, but they did it anyway to give billionaires more tax breaks.”

The following day, July 14, 2025, Boyle highlighted recognition he received for his legislative work: “I’m proud to be ranked by the Center for Effective Lawmaking as the most effective Democrat in Pennsylvania’s U.S. House delegation. I prioritize getting real results for my neighbors in Philadelphia, and I’ll always fight for working people like the ones that raised me.”

Later on July 14, Boyle responded to an unspecified decision regarding education policy: “This decision is shameful. The Department of Education protects Americans’ civil rights and helps millions of our kids get the education they deserve. The Trump administration is abandoning our families and children.”

Brendan Boyle has represented Pennsylvania’s 2nd District since succeeding Allyson Schwartz in Congress in 2015 after serving six years in the state legislature. He was born in Philadelphia in 1977 and continues to reside there.
