Rep. Brendan Boyle, U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, recently used his social media platform to comment on national events and policy decisions. In a series of posts dated January 19 and 20, 2026, Boyle addressed topics ranging from Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy to U.S. foreign policy and the impact of recent presidential actions.

On January 19, Boyle marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day by highlighting the ongoing influence of Dr. King’s work: “On MLK Day we celebrate the profound impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy. His memory continues to challenge America to answer our highest calling — delivering justice and prosperity for all people.”

Later that day, Boyle criticized former President Donald Trump’s approach to international relations: “Trump’s crazy actions are uniting the world — against us. His tariff on 6 of our closest NATO allies does more damage to NATO than any outside attack ever could. NATO is the bedrock of US security. It must be protected.” The statement reflects concerns among some lawmakers about recent tariffs imposed on allied nations and their potential effects on longstanding defense alliances.

On January 20, Boyle reflected on one year since Trump returned to office: “Today marks one year since Trump returned to the White House, and the damage has been immense. So today I gathered with local leaders in North Philly to detail all the damage his policies have done to Philly and America.”

Boyle has represented Pennsylvania’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Allyson Schwartz in 2015 after previously serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 through 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1977, he continues to reside there and is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame.
