Rep. Brendan Boyle, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, has taken to social media to express his concerns regarding recent budgetary decisions by the Trump administration. Boyle, who previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015 and holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame, has been vocal about fiscal policies that he perceives as detrimental to working families.
On June 11, 2025, Boyle criticized Trump’s Treasury Secretary for his apparent shift in stance on fiscal responsibility. “When Trump’s Treasury Secretary worked for George Soros, he would always rail against the deficit,” Boyle stated. He further accused the Secretary of supporting policies that favor tax breaks for billionaires while removing healthcare coverage for millions.
Later that day, Boyle addressed Secretary Bessent’s dismissal of expert opinions on Trump’s budget bill. “Sec. Bessent seems to think that right-leaning experts, left-leaning experts, and the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office are all wrong about Trump’s budget bill,” he wrote. He argued that the bill benefits billionaires at the expense of healthcare access for many Americans.
On June 12, 2025, Boyle shared findings from an inquiry with the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) regarding Trump’s budget proposal. “NEW: I asked the nonpartisan @USCBO what Trump’s budget bill would mean for working people,” he tweeted. According to Boyle, their analysis suggests it represents one of history’s largest wealth transfers from working families to affluent individuals.
Brendan Boyle was born in Philadelphia in 1977 and continues to reside there today.
