Brendan Boyle, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 2nd district since 2015, has expressed critical views on social media regarding recent actions and policies of former President Donald Trump. His remarks focus on military funding and fiscal policy.

On June 15, 2025, Boyle commented on Trump’s allocation of $45 million, suggesting it could be better spent on veterans’ affairs. He stated, “If Trump actually cared about our military, he could take that $45 million to improve our VA Hospitals and repay the heroes who served our country with honor. Instead, he’s using our military as props to celebrate his birthday.”

In a subsequent post dated June 17, 2025, Boyle addressed findings from the Congressional Budget Office concerning Trump’s budget bill. He noted that “The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office found that Trump’s budget bill would now add $3.3 TRILLION to the debt.” Boyle criticized Republican priorities by stating they are “wasting trillions on tax breaks for billionaires,” which he claims will result in higher interest rates and inflation for Americans.

Furthering his critique on June 18, 2025, Boyle reiterated bipartisan agreement among analysts regarding the financial impact of Trump’s budget proposal. He emphasized that while “Trump’s billionaire donors get massive tax breaks,” ordinary citizens will face economic challenges such as increased prices and loan costs.

Brendan Boyle was born in Philadelphia in 1977 and holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to his current role in Congress, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015.
