Motorists in Lycoming County should be aware that a bridge preservation project will continue next week. The project involves maintenance work on 12 state-owned bridges across the county, including repairs to bridge decks, application of waterproof membranes, paving, and line painting.
During the week of June 30, 2025, contractors will focus on paving and applying waterproof membranes to specific bridges. Work will occur on Covered Bridge Road (Route 4007) over Blockhouse Creek in Jackson Township and Route 414 over Cedar Run in Brown Township. Motorists should expect alternating lane restrictions during daylight hours where work is being performed. The paving is expected to finish by Thursday, July 3, 2025, weather permitting.
No work is scheduled for other bridges next week, allowing both lanes to remain open. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., serves as the prime contractor for this $1.6 million project.
The list of bridges involved includes Route 44 over Pine Creek in Cummings Township and several others throughout the region. Completion of the entire project is anticipated by late summer 2025, depending on weather conditions.
