A project to replace the bridge on President Road in President Township, Venango County, is set to commence later this month. The $1.56 million initiative will replace the existing steel bridge over Porcupine Creek with a concrete structure. This bridge is situated between Route 62 and Porcupine Lane.

The construction, which includes minor paving, updated guiderail and drainage, new signs, and roadway paint, is scheduled to start on June 16, 2025, pending weather conditions. Completion is expected by November 2025. A detour using Route 62 and Route 157 will be in place for six months.

Built in 1958, the current single-span steel bridge is in poor condition and has a weight limit of one truck at a time. It serves approximately 75 vehicles daily. Thomas Construction of Grove City, PA, has been contracted for the project at a cost of $1,564,954.49, funded entirely by federal resources.

Details about the President Road Bridge Replacement can be found online at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1 under Projects Near You and the District 1 link. PennDOT’s Northwest Region plans to work on over 100 projects this year. The full list is available in the 2025 Construction Book online.
