A bridge replacement project is underway on Wallis Run Road (Route 1003) in Gamble Township, Lycoming County. The work, conducted by Nestlerode Contracting Company, Inc., involves reconstructing the roadway over Roaring Run Creek and began the week of June 30, 2025.

The road remains closed between Murray Run Road and Logue Hill as the bridge is replaced. A detour is in place using Southard Road (Route 1004), Calvert Road, Beech Valley Road/Field Station Road (Route 1004), Rose Valley Road (Route 1001/1008), and Kellyburg Road (Route 1006). Motorists are advised to drive cautiously and follow the signed detour.

Nestlerode Contracting Company, Inc., serves as the prime contractor for this $640,000 project. The work includes removing the existing structure, installing a new box culvert, reconstructing approach roadways, installing guiderails, paving, line painting, and other related construction tasks. Completion is expected in fall 2025.
