The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the upcoming closure of the Bridge Valley Road bridge in Lancaster County for a replacement project. The bridge, located between Lake Aldred Terrace and Ridge Drive in Martic Township, will be closed starting Wednesday, June 25, weather permitting. A detour using Route 324 and River Road will be in place for up to 80 days.

The project involves replacing the existing slab structure with a precast concrete span arch culvert, along with approach reconstruction and guiderail updates. This bridge is part of a two-bridge contract that also includes replacing the Martic Heights Drive bridge later this year. An updated press release will be issued before its closure.

JVI Group, Inc., based in York Springs, PA, is the contractor for this $1,996,224 project. Completion is expected by October 22, 2025.
