A Bucks County resident, Richard Adamsky, 66, of Warminster, Pennsylvania, has been arrested and indicted on federal child pornography charges. According to an announcement from United States Attorney David Metcalf, Adamsky faces one count of receipt and attempted receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
The indictment claims that on or about June 15, 2024, Adamsky knowingly received a visual depiction involving a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. It also alleges that he possessed two computers and two flash drives containing images of minors involved in similar conduct. The materials reportedly included depictions of prepubescent children and minors under the age of 12.
Adamsky is scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court tomorrow. If convicted, he could face up to 40 years in prison with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program brings together federal, state, and local agencies to locate and prosecute individuals who exploit children online and to identify victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at projectsafechildhood.gov.
The investigation was conducted by FBI Philadelphia’s Fort Washington Resident Agency, the Warminster Township Police Department, Upper Merion Township Police Department, and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Maureen McCartney is prosecuting the case.
“The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty in court,” according to the statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
