Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Community & Business Shredding Day

October 23 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Attention Business Owners – If bringing more than 4 boxes of documents to the shredding event, please call the Chamber to reserve a spot. This will help us schedule/accommodate requests for large quantities. Limits apply.

This is a FREE event, open to the public. Donations are greatly appreciated. Recommended donation $10/box.

FCI Schuylkill inmate indicted for possessing prohibited objects in prison

A federal grand jury has indicted Antwan Edward Johnson Jr., an inmate at FCI Schuylkill, on charges related to possession of prohibited items inside prison. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says these charges highlight efforts against contraband within correctional facilities.

Cook congratulates local schools for receiving environmental education grants

Rep. Bud Cook announced nearly $35,000 in state grants for two local school districts focused on environmental education projects. The funds will support student programs about honeybees, sustainability, plant science, hydroponics, and farming skills.
