Philadelphia Union announced on June 3 that Subaru Park will serve as the host training site for the Côte d’Ivoire Men’s National Team as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026. In addition to their preparations, Côte d’Ivoire will play a friendly match against Union II on Monday, June 8, at 7 p.m. ET and hold a community training session for fans on Friday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m. ET. Both events are scheduled at Subaru Park and require free tickets for entry.
“Hosting Côte d’Ivoire’s friendly against Union II and a community training session is a meaningful moment for the Philadelphia Union, the City of Chester, and soccer fans throughout the region,” said Tim McDermott, President, Philadelphia Union. “As one of the world’s top national teams prepares for the FIFA World Cup 2026, we’re proud to play a role in that journey and create exceptional opportunities for supporters to experience the game at its highest level.”
The upcoming friendly offers Union II an opportunity to compete with Côte d’Ivoire’s national team, known as Les Éléphants. The Ivorian team recently won its third Africa Cup of Nations title in 2023 and is using this match as part of its final preparations before participating in international competition.
After Friday’s community training session, fans are invited to claim free tickets to attend Soccer Celebration presented by Michelob ULTRA at Union Yards, where they can watch the U.S. Men’s National Team face Paraguay later that evening. The event includes live music, special appearances, interactive games, giveaways and more.
Philadelphia Union operates as a professional soccer team within Major League Soccer with facilities including Subaru Park—a waterfront stadium in Chester—alongside dedicated practice fields and youth programs designed to foster fan involvement and community ties, according to the official website.
