A Curwensville resident has admitted guilt in a federal court for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Jason Lentz, aged 31, entered his guilty plea to Count One of the Indictment before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines on June 17, 2025.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that in January 2024, within the Western District of Pennsylvania, Lentz had possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with plans to distribute it.
Judge Haines has set the sentencing date for October 14, 2025. The law stipulates a minimum sentence of ten years and could extend up to life imprisonment. Additionally, there is a possibility of a fine reaching $10 million. The actual sentence will be determined based on the offense’s severity and any prior criminal history of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon is leading the prosecution for this case.
The investigation resulting in Lentz’s prosecution was carried out by the Pennsylvania State Police, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
