U.S. Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) visited Dura-Bond Pipe’s Steelton facility on February 13 to announce a new multi-year contract between Dura-Bond and TC Energy. The agreement is expected to generate $300 million in revenue and create more than 250 new union jobs in Pennsylvania.

Dura-Bond, established in 1960, manufactures steel pipe for natural gas and infrastructure projects across the United States. The company will add an additional shift at its Steelton plant to meet increased demand under the new contract, expanding its workforce.

Senator McCormick stated, “From day one, my team and I have been proud to stand with Dura-Bond as they’ve grown stronger and created opportunity for Pennsylvania workers. This $300 million contract with TC Energy will create 250 new union jobs and strengthen the Marcellus Shale region’s role in powering American manufacturing. What we are seeing here in Steelton is the intersection of President Trump’s strategy of energy dominance, his commitment to American steel, and the return of advanced manufacturing right here in Pennsylvania.”

Dura-Bond President Jason Norris expressed appreciation for bipartisan support: “We are deeply grateful for the support of Senator McCormick and the many others who have helped us along the way. As he highlighted this afternoon, this truly was a team effort, made successful through the commitment of elected officials and staff from both sides of the aisle at the federal, state, and local levels. My family and I are personally touched by the interest shown and the support extended on behalf of our employees. We sincerely appreciate everyone who worked together to make this possible.”

John Draeger, Vice President for U.S. Projects at TC Energy said, “Our more than 40-year partnership with Dura-Bond represents the strength of American manufacturing and the critical role Pennsylvania plays in powering the country. TC Energy’s latest $300 million pipe-supply agreement is not just an investment in infrastructure – it’s an investment in American workers, including more than 250 new United Steelworkers jobs that will help meet the nation’s growing energy needs. Reliable, affordable energy is essential to America’s competitiveness, and we’re grateful for Senator McCormick’s leadership and commitment to the communities that form the heart of America’s energy future.”

Pennsylvania remains home to America’s only domestically owned manufacturer of large-diameter line pipe used for oil and natural gas transmission. The expansion at Dura-Bond highlights Pennsylvania’s continued role as a leader in advanced manufacturing and energy innovation.
