The Philadelphia Eagles announced on May 4 that the ninth annual Eagles Autism Challenge will take place on Saturday, May 9 at Lincoln Financial Field. The event is expected to draw more participants and donations than ever before, following last year’s milestone of over $10 million raised for autism research and care programs.

The Eagles Autism Challenge brings together fans, players, and coaches to support groundbreaking initiatives through the Eagles Autism Foundation. Since its inception in 2018, fundraising efforts have supported 223 research projects and community grants worldwide. Organizers anticipate that this year’s challenge will be the largest yet.

Participants can choose from activities such as running, biking, or walking alongside members of the team. Among those scheduled to participate are Jihaad Campbell, Darius Cooper, Jordan Davis, Cooper DeJean, Jake Elliott, Brandon Graham, E.J. Jenkins, Cam Jurgens, Elijah Moore, Andre’ Sam for the Wawa Hoagie 10-Mile Ride; Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni for the FreedomPay 5K; and Zack Baun for the West Sensory Walk. “This is like gameday,” said Baun about his experience with last year’s sensory-friendly walk.

The Philadelphia Eagles operate as a professional American football team in the National Football League (NFL), according to their official website. The team has maintained its base in Philadelphia since entering the NFL in 1933 according to their official website. In addition to hosting games at Lincoln Financial Field—the venue for this year’s event—the franchise provides news coverage, media content, ticketing services and fan engagement opportunities according to their official website.

The team’s influence extends beyond Philadelphia through national broadcasts of games as well as merchandise sales across the country according to their official website. This broad reach contributes significantly to both regional culture and national sports communities.

Organizers encourage those interested in joining this year’s challenge who have not yet registered to use code FinalPushtoEAC for a waived registration fee. Player participation may change leading up to the event.
