The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the overnight closure of the Five-Points Intersection in Montgomery Township, Montgomery County. The intersection, which includes Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike), Route 463 (Horsham Road/Cowpath Road), and Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road), will be closed from 11:00 PM on Sunday, July 13, to 5:00 AM on Monday, July 14.
During this period, motorists will follow detours for each road. Southbound Route 309 will be redirected via Broad Street and Main Street/Welsh Road back to Route 309. Northbound Route 309 traffic will use the U.S. 202 Bypass and County Line Road to return to Route 309. Westbound Horsham Road will be detoured via the U.S. 202 Bypass and County Line Road to Business U.S. 202. Eastbound Cowpath Road will follow Broad Street and Main Street/Welsh Road back to Route 309. Southbound Business U.S. 202 traffic will use County Line Road and the U.S. 202 Bypass to reach Route 309.
Drivers should anticipate delays and are advised to allow extra travel time near the work area. The schedule is subject to weather conditions.
This closure is part of a $14.2 million project aimed at improving travel and safety at the intersection by adding through-lanes, upgrading signalization, installing sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, guiderail, and enhancing stormwater drainage among other improvements.
Road-Con, Inc., based in West Chester, Chester County, is managing the project with full federal funding.
