Tiriq Henson, a 34-year-old former wheelchair assistant at Philadelphia International Airport, was sentenced to nine days in prison and two years of supervised release for violating airport security regulations. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer following Henson’s guilty plea to one count of entering an airport area in violation of security requirements.

According to court records, on March 9, 2024, Henson allowed his associate David Easley to bypass airport security by providing him with access credentials. Easley used Henson’s security badge to enter a secure boarding area designated for screened passengers without undergoing standard security checks.

David Easley previously pleaded guilty to the same offense and received a prison sentence as well.

United States Attorney David Metcalf commented on the case: “Tiriq Henson, 34, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was sentenced today to nine days’ incarceration, followed by two years of supervised release, by United States District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer for helping another person bypass airport security at the Philadelphia International Airport.”

The investigation was conducted by the FBI with support from the Transportation Security Administration and the Philadelphia Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Priya De Souza prosecuted the case.
