The Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) announced on Apr. 14 its Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Academic All-Area Teams for the 2025–26 season.

This recognition highlights student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence both in the pool and in the classroom across institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

On the women’s team, seniors Sydney Bergstrom and Anna Moehn were selected for a second consecutive year. Both athletes earned Second Team All-American honors after finishing 12th and 16th respectively in the 1650 freestyle at NCAA Championships, becoming only the third and fourth Quakers to achieve All-America status. Bergstrom was also named Penn’s Academic All-Ivy honoree, while both swimmers were included on the CSC Academic All-District team.

Representing Penn on the men’s side were Watson Nguyen and Peter Whittington. Nguyen placed 28th in the 100 breaststroke and 26th in the 200 breaststroke at NCAA Championships, while Whittington finished 23rd in the 200 breaststroke and 31st in the 400 individual medley. Nguyen received First Team All-Ivy honors with two first-place finishes at Ivy League Championships, while Whittington earned Second Team All-Ivy laurels.

Philly-SIDA annually selects ten standout athletes from each sport among thirty participating institutions. For updates on Penn swimming & diving, fans are encouraged to follow @PennSwimDive on social media or visit PennAthletics.com.
