Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa announced on Apr. 15 that the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has approved a low-interest loan of $7.1 million to the Greater Uniontown Joint Sewage Plant Authority for a water infrastructure project.
The funding will support the replacement of the authority’s ultraviolet system, including modifications to existing channels, construction of new dual parallel UV channels, installation of two new UV systems, and other related upgrades such as a new flow splitter box and electrical service. The old UV system will be demolished once the new one is operational.
“This funding is crucial to help move this project forward,” Grimm Krupa said. “This support makes a real difference for the greater Uniontown area, giving people the safe, reliable infrastructure they deserve. We’re excited to put these dollars to work and deliver improvements that will last well into the future.”
Grimm Krupa serves as Pennsylvania State Representative for the 51st Legislative District according to her official website. Grimm Krupa worked as an assistant Fayette County public defender before practicing as a private attorney specializing in civil rights litigation according to her official website.

PENNVEST was established in 1988 and provides funding for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater projects across Pennsylvania.
