A Harrisburg man has been convicted on multiple drug and firearm charges following a four-day jury trial in federal court. Shawkon Sharif Jamison, 30, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, nine counts of distributing fentanyl—including two counts involving 40 grams or more—and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The trial took place before United States District Judge Malachy E. Mannion. Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.

United States Attorney Brian D. Miller stated that law enforcement conducted controlled purchases of ecstasy pills from Jamison several times between August and September 2023. The investigation continued into December 2023, during which officers made seven separate purchases of fentanyl from Jamison. During the final transaction, he also sold a firearm.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigation and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. Special Assistant United States Attorney Robert Smulktis and Assistant United States Attorney K. Wesley Mishoe prosecuted the case.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, this prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America (https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1393746/dl?inline), a national initiative led by the Department of Justice to combat illegal immigration, dismantle cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and address violent crime through coordinated efforts with programs such as the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
