HBO Max partnered with Allegheny Health Network’s Allegheny General Hospital and Pittsburgh photographer Chancelor Humphrey on Apr. 10 to recreate character art from the drama series ‘THE PITT’ using real medical professionals from the hospital’s emergency department.
The collaboration aims to recognize and celebrate the dedication of healthcare workers who have inspired the television series. The project features cinematic portraits of AGH emergency staff, styled similarly to key promotional images from season two of ‘THE PITT.’ A behind-the-scenes video includes comments from staff members about their connection to the show. The photos and video were released through HBO Max’s and AHN’s social media channels after a new episode aired.
All images were captured by Humphrey, whose ‘Keep Pittsburgh Dope’ brand highlights local people and events on social media. According to the press release, AGH has served as both backdrop and inspiration for ‘THE PITT,’ which is produced by Warner Bros. Television and is noted for its realistic depiction of modern health care.
Imran Qadeer, president of Allegheny General Hospital, said, “We are honored that our dedicated caregivers at AGH are being recognized in such a powerful and authentic way by HBO Max. This artistic series highlights the daily courage, compassion and resilience of our emergency medicine staff who are true heroes in our community.”
