How many H-1B petitions were made by Pennsylvania employers classified under the Information industry during 2024?

Employers classified under the Information industry based in Pennsylvania submitted 747 H-1B petitions during 2024, according to data provided by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub.

Of these, 735 were approved (98.4%), while 12 were denied (1.6%).

The H-1B visa program allows U.S. employers to temporarily hire foreign workers in specialty occupations requiring specialized knowledge and at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The Pennsylvania employers which made the most petitions in the Information sector during 2024 included Comcast Cable Communications, LLC with 446 petitions, Ansys, Inc. with 100 petitions, and Unisys Corporation with 27 petitions.

Compared to 2023, the Information sector in Pennsylvania saw a 6.2% decrease in the number of H-1B petitions during 2024.
