Jefferson Health welcomes first babies of the New Year across regional hospitals

Jefferson Health welcomed several of the region’s first newborns on Jan. 1, as families celebrated the arrival of their babies at hospitals throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The announcement highlights the significance of these births for local families and marks a celebratory start to 2026 for Jefferson Health’s network of hospitals.

Among those welcoming new additions were Carissa Corneil and Victor Caraballo-Bourdier from Zionsville, whose daughter Isabella Mia Bourdier-Corneil was born at Lehigh Valley Hospital—Cedar Crest at 12:11 am, weighing 7 lbs. 10 oz and measuring 21 inches. At Lehigh Valley Hospital—Muhlenberg, Priscilla Flores and Jason Olowoyo from Bethlehem greeted Elliana Tola Olowoyo at 12:42 am, weighing 5 lbs. 2 oz and measuring 17.5 inches.

Other families included Lindsay and Matthew Logan from Chalfont with baby Dawson Logan born at Jefferson Abington Hospital at 1:01 am (6 lbs.13 oz,19.5 inches), Rhondica Cash from Philadelphia with Yara Cash born at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital at 3:28 am (3 lbs.3 oz,15 inches), Heather Dietz and Zachary Jones from Lansford with Jasper Thorn Jones born at Lehigh Valley Hospital—Hazleton at 3:38 am (7 lbs.2 oz,22 inches), Skye and Jesse Fotusky from Tamaqua with Wren Ann Fotusky born at Lehigh Valley Hospital—Schuylkill at 8:34 am (6 lbs.6 oz,20 inches), and Nyasia Shippy and Anthony Weal from Sicklerville with Mekhai Lee Weal born at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital at10:43 pm (8 lbs.3 oz,19.75 inches).

According to U.S.News & World Report, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals-Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center is located in Philadelphia, was founded in1991,and is led by president Andrew E.Chapman.The hospital features a pediatric ward and serves as a training hospital.

Jefferson Health reports that it operates more than thirty-two hospital campuses along with over seven hundred outpatient locations across the region.It is recognized as one of the top fifteen not-for-profit health care systems nationally,and serves millions through its various clinical encounters each year.Jefferson also supports more than370000 members through its managed health care organization.
