Rep. Robert Leadbeter announced on May 4 that he will partner with Mamoth Recycling to hold an E-Waste Recycling Day on Saturday, June 6, at the company’s facility in the BIDA Complex at 117 Power House Road in Berwick.
The event is intended to give residents of the 109th District a safe way to recycle electronic items that are no longer needed or working. “This event is a great opportunity for residents in the 109th District to safely recycle old, broken electronic items,” Leadbeter said. “The well-being of our families and seniors is a top priority to me, and recycling at this event ensures electronics do not end up in landfills.”
According to the announcement, computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, cameras and video game consoles can be recycled free of charge. Other items such as televisions, floor monitors, console stereos and USB thumb drives will require a fee for disposal. Payment can be made by cash or credit card directly to Mamoth Recycling; these payments do not benefit Leadbeter’s office.
