A man from Hacienda Heights, California, has been sentenced to nine months in federal prison for mail fraud after submitting more than 6,000 false claims of lost or damaged ground shipments. Ting Hong Yeung, 43, pleaded guilty on August 14, 2025, before Chief United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak in Pittsburgh.

Yeung admitted to using several corporate entities between August 2018 and June 2020 to file fraudulent claims for ground package shipments that were not actually lost or damaged. As a result of these actions, he received settlement payments based on the false claims.

Before handing down the sentence, Chief Judge Hornak highlighted the seriousness of the offense and noted its impact on the affected ground package delivery company.

Assistant United States Attorney Nicole A. Stockey led the prosecution for the government.

Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti said, “The Federal Bureau of Investigation is commended for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Yeung.”
