Mackenzie offers veteran assistance hours at Red Hill and Bethlehem offices in May

Rep. Milou Mackenzie announced on May 5 that veterans and their families can access services during Veteran Assistance Hours at her Red Hill and Bethlehem offices this month.

These sessions aim to provide support for local veterans by offering help with compensation, pension, death benefits, education, healthcare, and other needs. The Red Hill office will host Veteran Assistance Hours on Wednesday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., located at 56 W. Fourth St., Red Hill. The Bethlehem office will offer the same services on Wednesday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 1425 Mountain Dr. N., Bethlehem.

According to the announcement, membership in the American Legion is not required for veterans or their dependents to receive these services. Appointments can be scheduled by calling Mackenzie’s district office at 610-965-5830.

Mackenzie is a lifelong Lehigh Valley resident and eighth-generation Pennsylvanian who serves on the PennSERVE Community Service Advisory Board and contributes to community efforts including services for veterans and support for small business owners, according to the official website. She represents the 131st Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives where she serves on committees related to children, youth, education, housing, community development and human services while assisting constituents with state programs; she also sponsored a law permitting military children to register in school districts.

Her background includes graduating from Nazareth Area Senior High School and earning a bachelor’s degree in English from Cedar Crest College. Mackenzie lives with her husband—a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and veteran—in Lower Saucon Township; they have two sons and four grandchildren according to the official website.
