A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted Mark Lamarr Beavers, 26, of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, on a charge related to the possession of firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon. The announcement was made by First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
The indictment alleges that on or about August 26, 2025, Beavers possessed two firearms and ammunition despite being prohibited from doing so due to his status as a convicted felon. Federal law bars individuals with felony convictions from possessing firearms or ammunition.
If convicted, Beavers faces a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The actual sentence would depend on the seriousness of the offense and Beavers’ prior criminal history under federal sentencing guidelines.
Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher is prosecuting the case for the government. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad.
First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti stated: “An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
