Ivan Nicholas Baez, a 46-year-old resident of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 262 months in prison for child pornography offenses. The sentence was handed down on October 23, 2025, by United States District Judge Julia K. Munley, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
United States Attorney Brian D. Miller stated that in May 2024, Pennsylvania State Police executed a search warrant to seize and analyze Baez’s cell phone. Authorities found about 150 images and videos containing child sexual abuse material on the device. Some of these materials were produced using the phone and showed Baez engaging in sexual acts with minors as young as ten years old. Baez had served as a caretaker to one of the victims.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Jenny P. Roberts prosecuted the case.
“This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims,” according to information provided by authorities.
