Best Lawyers, a peer-review publication in the legal field, has named more than 80 K&L Gates lawyers across the Asia-Pacific region in its 2027 editions for Australia, Japan, and Singapore, according to an April 16 announcement from the firm. Nearly 20 of these lawyers were included on the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch lists for Australia and Japan, which recognize early-career legal professionals.

The recognition highlights notable achievements within K&L Gates. Four Australian partners received “Lawyer of the Year” awards—an honor given to only one lawyer per practice area in each jurisdiction. The Melbourne recipients include Alan Maclean for Asset Finance Law, Cameron Abbott for Outsourcing Law, and Christien Corns for Legal Malpractice Litigation. In Sydney, Richard Gray was recognized for Equipment Finance Law.

Selection to Best Lawyers is based on millions of votes from peers practicing in the same geographic regions and legal specialties each year. This process aims to identify leading talent within various practice areas.

In total, nearly 180 recognitions were awarded to K&L Gates lawyers across all categories featured in this year’s editions. The inclusion spans established practitioners as well as those at earlier stages of their careers.

These results underscore ongoing recognition of K&L Gates’ presence within key Asia-Pacific markets by a prominent industry publication.
