Morgan Lewis announced on April 22 that Michael Rinehart has joined the firm as chief information officer, a move aimed at strengthening its technology platform and cybersecurity capabilities.
The appointment is significant for Morgan Lewis as it seeks to enhance secure, reliable, and scalable systems to support its lawyers and client services. Rinehart will lead the firm’s global information technology function with a focus on cybersecurity and risk management.
Rinehart comes to Morgan Lewis from Dechert, where he served as CIO and oversaw the firm’s information technology strategy. He brings more than 25 years of experience in professional services and industry, including previous roles at Fox Rothschild where he led technology strategy for a decade.
He will work closely with Chief AI & Knowledge Management Officer Colleen Nihill to align the firm’s technology platform with data, artificial intelligence, and knowledge initiatives. His background includes expertise in enterprise infrastructure, digital transformation, and operations.
“Technology is central to how we operate and deliver value to our clients,” said Tony Licata, chief operating officer of Morgan Lewis. “Michael brings a strong track record of leading enterprise technology functions in complex professional services organizations, with particular depth in infrastructure and cybersecurity. His collaborative approach will help ensure our lawyers have the systems and support they need, while we continue to advance our technology priorities in coordination with our AI and knowledge management initiatives.”
