Zachary Comerford, a 33-year-old resident of Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for illegal possession of a firearm. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania made the announcement.

According to U.S. Attorney Brian D. Miller, Comerford was allegedly found with an H&R .32 caliber revolver on November 20, 2025, in Northumberland County. At the time, he had previously been convicted of a felony offense.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Marshals Service, Coal Township Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Alisan V. Martin is handling the prosecution.

This case falls under Operation Take Back America (https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1393746/dl?inline), which is a national initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime.

If convicted, Comerford faces up to 15 years in prison, supervised release after imprisonment, and a fine. Sentencing will be determined by a judge who will consider federal statutes and sentencing guidelines.

It is noted that indictments are only allegations and that all individuals charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
