A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted Thomas Dorn, a 39-year-old resident of Natrona, Pennsylvania, on charges related to interstate threats and threatening to assault and murder a federal official. The announcement was made by First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
According to the indictment, Dorn allegedly left voice messages on October 17, 2025, in which he threatened to injure and kill a victim and others. The indictment also states that on October 27, 2025, Dorn threatened to shoot his postal carrier and attack his local post office.
On October 28, 2025, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) filed a criminal complaint against Dorn and arrested him at his home. After a hearing, a federal magistrate judge determined that Dorn posed a danger to the community and ordered him held without bail while awaiting trial.
The indictment includes forfeiture allegations notifying Dorn that the government intends to seek forfeiture of property seized during his arrest by the FBI. This property reportedly includes 11 firearms along with firearm suppressors, scopes, magazines, and ammunition of various calibers.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan J. McKenna is leading the prosecution for this case. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Marshals Service, and Harrison Township Police Department.
First Assistant United States Attorney Troy Rivetti stated: “An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
