The National Federation of Independent Business State Director Greg Moreland joined Westmoreland County small business owners for a roundtable discussion with state Representative Jill Cooper last month. Senate President Tempore Kim Ward and Westmoreland County Chamber Chief Executive Officer Dan DeBone also attended the event.
The meeting provided an opportunity for local business owners to share their concerns and experiences directly with elected officials. This kind of engagement is seen as important for ensuring that lawmakers understand the challenges facing Pennsylvania’s small businesses.
“It’s always important for our elected officials to meet with small business owners and hear from them directly about the issues impacting their businesses,” said Moreland. “We appreciate Representative Cooper for taking the time to have this roundtable and learn more about Pennsylvania’s small business community.”
The National Federation of Independent Business has encouraged participation in similar events, noting that direct communication between policymakers and entrepreneurs can help shape policies affecting the state’s economic climate.
Looking ahead, NFIB is inviting members to join its 2026 Small Business Day on May 5 in Harrisburg, providing another opportunity for advocacy and dialogue between small business owners and government leaders.
