The No. 20 Penn State Nittany Lions women’s lacrosse team will play against the Ohio State Buckeyes on April 5 in Columbus, according to a statement released on April 4. The game is set for noon at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

This matchup comes as Penn State seeks to rebound from a narrow loss to Maryland, where freshmen made significant contributions. Rocquette Allen, who has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week four times this season, led with five goals and six points in the previous game. Makenna Gagliardi made her collegiate debut as goalkeeper and recorded a save rate of over 57 percent during relief play.

Allen’s performance has placed her among a select group of Big Ten players who have earned Freshman of the Week honors four or more times in one season. In addition, Allen scored what was described as a highlight-reel goal that was featured as the number two play on SportsCenter’s Top 10 segment.

Goalkeeper Sydney Manning recently surpassed 300 career saves and posted strong performances against ranked opponents Michigan and Princeton earlier this season. Gagliardi also contributed eight saves during her debut against Maryland.

Offensively, Delaney Radin was added to the Tewaaraton Watch List and set new personal bests for goals, assists, points, shots, and free position goals this year. She tied a program record with eight assists in one game and now leads Penn State with more than double her previous career assist total this season. Kelly MacKinney has also reached new single-season highs for herself while becoming eighth all-time at Penn State for assists.

Ohio State enters Sunday’s contest after losing to Michigan but features offensive leaders Camryn Callaghan and Kate Tyack—both with over thirty goals—and goalkeeper Jocelyn Torres with an average save rate above forty-two percent.
