Old William Penn Highway in Monroeville, Allegheny County, will be closed from 9 p.m. on Monday, July 21, to noon on Tuesday, July 22, according to PennDOT District 11. The closure is for bridge deck placement work on the I-376 (Parkway East) structure over the roadway. Traffic will be detoured via Garden City Drive and Laurel Drive.

Temporary traffic signals will manage traffic once the road reopens under the bridge at noon on Tuesday. “Please slow down and use caution on the detour route,” advises PennDOT. Local roads are part of the detour plan.

The project is part of a $70.1 million initiative to improve I-376 Parkway East. It includes superstructure replacement and several bridge rehabilitations and preservations along a 4.5-mile stretch between Churchill/Route 130 (Exit 79B) and Monroeville/Route 48 (Exit 84A). Completion is expected by fall 2026.

Swank Construction Company, LLC is handling the project as the prime contractor.
