Paving is set to begin next week on U.S. 1 in Bucks County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). The work is part of a $116 million project aimed at reconstructing and widening a three-mile section of the highway in Bensalem and Middletown townships.

Lane closures will be implemented from Sunday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 2, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM the following morning. These closures will affect both directions of U.S. 1 between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange. Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time due to expected delays.

The paving work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract, which focuses on improving the stretch from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange. All activities are subject to weather conditions.
