PECO Energy will begin utility construction on Castor Avenue in Philadelphia starting Monday, July 14, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). The work will lead to a weekday closure of Castor Avenue between Richmond Street and Balfour Street from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM until Friday, September 26.

During this period, motorists are advised to use Delaware Avenue, Lewis Street, and Richmond Street as alternative routes. Local access will be maintained throughout the construction. Drivers should plan for extra travel time due to expected delays and backups. The project is weather dependent and will be completed under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Motorists can monitor road conditions by visiting www.511PA.com, which offers traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras.
