The Penn State baseball team will travel to Columbus for a three-game series against Ohio State at Bill Davis Stadium, beginning April 10. The games are scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m., with all matchups available on B1G+.

The change in Friday’s start time from the originally planned 6 p.m. is intended to avoid possible rain later in the day. Penn State, led by head coach Mike Gambino, currently holds a record of 9-21 overall and is coming off an 11-5 win over Fairleigh Dickinson University earlier this week. Ohio State, coached by Justin Haire, enters the weekend with a record of 17-14 after a recent loss to Bowling Green.

This series continues Big Ten play for both teams. Historically, Penn State trails Ohio State in their all-time matchup record but swept the Buckeyes during their last meeting in 2023. This marks Penn State’s first visit to Columbus since the 2022 season.

Key players for Penn State include Michael Anderson and Bryce Molinaro. Anderson leads several offensive categories among Big Ten hitters and is one of seven Division I players this season with more than thirteen home runs averaging over four hundred feet per homerun. Molinaro recently hit his eighth home run of the year and ranks tied for fourth all-time at Penn State with thirty-two career homers.

Last weekend, Penn State dropped three games against Nebraska but saw strong performances from Anderson and Molinaro both offensively and defensively. In addition, five Nittany Lions were selected in the most recent Major League Baseball draft, including Molinaro who returned for this season.

Looking ahead, Penn State will face No.17 West Virginia next week before returning home for another conference series against Rutgers.
