The Penn State baseball team will host Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) for Dollar Dog Night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Tuesday, April 7. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on B1G+.

The event marks the first Dollar Dog Night of the season for Penn State, where fans previously consumed over 6,000 hot dogs during a single game against St. Bonaventure. Since the start of the promotion in 2023, more than 80,000 hot dogs have been sold across sixteen such nights.

Penn State enters the matchup with an overall record of eight wins and twenty-one losses under head coach Mike Gambino. The team is seeking to recover after three close defeats against nineteenth-ranked Nebraska last weekend. In those games, Michael Anderson led with strong offensive performances including multiple home runs and doubles, while Bryce Molinaro and Justin Turcovski each contributed two-run homers in the series opener.

FDU arrives with a record of nineteen wins and nine losses under coach Manny Roman, having recently swept UMES in their latest series. As part of its ongoing season highlights, Penn State has seen notable individual achievements: Anderson currently leads Big Ten hitters in several categories including OPS (1.280), slugging percentage (.792), and home runs per game (0.46). Molinaro has reached fourth place all-time at Penn State with thirty-two career home runs.

Looking back on recent seasons under Gambino’s leadership, Penn State recorded thirty-three wins in 2025—the second-highest total in program history—and reached consecutive Big Ten Tournament Semifinals for the first time since the early 2000s. Five players from last year’s roster were selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.

In addition to current competition, Penn State recently signed Japanese pitcher Genei Sato who is expected to join for classes this summer and compete next season. Sato was considered a top prospect both for Nippon Professional Baseball’s draft as well as potentially being a first-round pick in Major League Baseball’s draft next year.

Following Tuesday’s game against FDU, Penn State will travel to Columbus for a three-game series against Ohio State from April 10-12.
