Penn State defeats Oregon 19-9 with strong performances from MacKinney, Radin, and Allen

The No. 18 Penn State women’s lacrosse team defeated the Oregon Ducks 19-9 at Panzer Stadium on April 9. The Nittany Lions’ offense was led by Kelly MacKinney, Delaney Radin, and Rocquette Allen, who combined for seventeen points in the game.

The win is significant as it brings Penn State to an overall record of 11-3 and a conference record of 3-2 in the Big Ten. The team’s balanced scoring effort helped them secure their eleventh victory of the season.

MacKinney recorded her second consecutive seven-plus point game with four goals and three assists. Radin achieved her second career hat trick along with two assists, bringing her season total to forty-four assists—the second most in a single season in program history. Allen tied her career high with five goals and surpassed fifty career points as a freshman.

Erika Ho contributed back-to-back hat tricks while Payton Wainman and Emma Kelly each scored twice. Kelly also dominated draw controls with fifteen victories, reaching one hundred draws in her career.

Other notable achievements included MacKinney reaching one hundred fifty career points during the match and head coach Kayla Treanor earning her seventieth win as head coach in fewer than one hundred games played.

Looking ahead, Penn State will host Northwestern on Sunday, April 12 at 11 a.m., followed by a home game against Johns Hopkins on Thursday, April 16 for their White Out event.
