Penn State men’s basketball head coach Mike Rhoades announced on May 26 the signing of six-foot-eleven center Tim Oboh ahead of the 2026-27 season. Oboh joins Penn State with two seasons of eligibility remaining after starting his collegiate career at Buffalo.

Oboh, a native of London, England, played his first two college seasons at Buffalo where he was a two-year starter. Over those seasons, he recorded 388 points, 224 rebounds, 56 blocks, and maintained a field goal percentage of 55.8 percent.

During his sophomore year in the 2025-26 season, Oboh started all 32 games for Buffalo. He led the team in rebounds with 156 (averaging 4.9 per game) and blocks with 47. He also contributed an average of 8.5 points per game and shot 61.1 percent from the field that year. His sophomore campaign included twelve double-digit scoring games and two double-doubles. In conference play, he averaged 9.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, and earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors for the season.

As a freshman in the previous season (2024-25), Oboh made nineteen starts across thirty appearances, averaging nearly four points and just over two rebounds per contest while playing an average of twelve minutes per game.

Before coming to college in the United States, Oboh attended Canterbury Academy in England and played for both Canterbury Academy and Kent Crusaders teams. In England’s Elite Academy Basketball League (EABL), he averaged just under seventeen points and twelve rebounds per game while being named Most Valuable Player in the league’s Southern Conference. Additionally, he represented Great Britain at both under-16 and under-18 levels during European Championship competitions.
