Penn State men’s lacrosse will host Michigan on April 11 in University Park, Pennsylvania, with the game set to begin at 1 p.m. at Panzer Stadium. The matchup will be streamed live on B1G+.

The event holds special significance as Penn State plans to celebrate its seniors and alumni. Thirteen senior players—Max Grube, Alex Ross, Jon King, Mac Hobbs, Ryan O’Connor, Wesley Scurci, Luke Walstrum, Will Costin, Mark McKeon, Michael Faraone, Luke Scarpello, John Jude Considine, and Will Mitchell—will be honored in a postgame ceremony. Program alumni will also be recognized throughout the day.

Michigan enters the contest after facing several top-20 opponents this season and recently securing its first Big Ten win of the year against Rutgers. Junior attacker Nick Roode is second in the Big Ten for goals per game with 2.50 while freshman Luke Shannehan ranks eighth with an average of 1.90 goals per game. Senior goalie Hunter Taylor leads the conference with an average of 10.5 saves per match.

In their last meeting earlier this season, Penn State defeated Michigan 11-8 on the road behind Matt Traynor’s milestone 100th career goal and strong performances from Jack Fracyon and Reid Gills.

Several Penn State players have received individual recognition this season: Alex Ross and Hunter Aquino were named to the initial Tewaaraton watch list; rookie Jack Iannantuono was ranked fifth among impactful freshmen by Inside Lacrosse; and three Nittany Lions—Ross (first team), Jon King (third team), and Gills (honorable mention)—earned midseason All-American honors from Inside Lacrosse.

Looking ahead to professional prospects, Alex Ross has moved into a top draft position for defensemen or poles following an injury to Maryland’s Will Shaller. Analyst Adam Lamberti projected Ross as a first-round pick for Denver Outlaws due to his defensive consistency.

The Nittany Lions aim to bounce back after a narrow loss against Johns Hopkins that ended their pursuit of sole possession of first place in conference standings.
