The No. 17 Penn State men’s volleyball team won its second consecutive match against No. 19 NJIT with a 3-0 sweep (26-24, 25-12, 25-18) in an Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association contest at Rec Hall on March 28. The Nittany Lions improved their overall record to 14-7 and stayed undefeated in conference play at 6-0, while the Highlanders dropped to 13-8 overall and are now 5-3 in the EIVA.

The victory highlights Penn State’s continued dominance within the conference this season. Maintaining an unblemished record is important as teams look to secure favorable positions for postseason play.

Defensively, Penn State was strong at the net with a total of twelve team blocks; Owen Rose and Gaige Gabriel each recorded six blocks to lead that effort.

At the service line, Rose tallied three of Penn State’s nine aces. Bennett Wilson achieved a career high with two aces alongside Luoma’s two; Harvey and Michael Schwob had one ace apiece.

For NJIT, Andre Alexio and Wiktor Nowak both finished with eight kills each.

Looking ahead, Penn State will travel for more conference action against Charleston on Friday, April 3 at 7 p.m., followed by another match on Saturday, April 4 at 3 p.m.
