The Penn State men’s tennis team will travel to Los Angeles to compete against No. 26 University of Southern California on April 3 and No. 22 University of California, Los Angeles on April 4.
The matches mark a significant challenge for the Nittany Lions as they face two nationally ranked opponents on the road. These contests follow a recent home split, where Penn State defeated No. 69 Northwestern but fell to No. 14 Illinois.
Last weekend, freshman Kyle Chesman played a key role by clinching the win over Northwestern and securing Penn State’s only point against Illinois.
USC currently holds a season record of 13-5 and has a historical advantage over Penn State with two wins in previous meetings, including last season’s 4-0 result. UCLA stands at 12-4 this season and also won its only prior matchup with Penn State last year by a score of 4-0.
After their West Coast trip, the Nittany Lions will return home for their final weekend of matches in Happy Valley, hosting Washington on April 10 and both Oregon (ranked No. 53) and St. Bonaventure on April 12.
