Penn State men’s basketball announced on May 4 the signing of guard Thomas Allard for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Head coach Mike Rhoades said Allard will join the team as a graduate transfer and play his final year of eligibility with the Nittany Lions.
Allard brings experience to Penn State’s backcourt after playing last season at Alabama-Huntsville, where he started all 32 games and helped lead the Chargers to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16. He averaged 13.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game during that campaign, including a standout performance with a season-high of 31 points on November 15.
Before his time at Alabama-Huntsville, Allard spent three seasons at Lincoln Memorial University. There, he contributed to three consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament appearances by averaging eight points and nearly four rebounds per game in his final year with Lincoln Memorial while shooting over forty-eight percent from the field and more than forty-three percent from three-point range.
Earlier in his college career, Allard appeared in nineteen games during the previous season at Lincoln Memorial, averaging just under four points and two rebounds per contest. He used the prior year as a redshirt season to further develop his skills.
The addition of Allard is expected to provide depth and experience for Penn State’s roster as they prepare for next year’s schedule.
