Penn State softball will host the Northwestern Wildcats in a three-game Big Ten Conference series at Nittany Lion Softball Park & Beard Field from April 10 through 12. The games are scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 11 a.m., with all contests available to stream live on B1G+.
The upcoming series is part of Penn State’s ongoing seven-game homestand and features several fan promotions, including Alumni & Friends appreciation on Saturday and Family Day on Sunday. Both weekend days will also include “Bark in the Park” events, allowing fans to bring their dogs to the ballpark. Additional activities such as postgame autographs and opportunities for children to run the bases are planned.
General admission seating is free for all home games, while parking can be reserved online or via the ParkWhiz app. Prepaid parking costs $5 per game or $5 per game with a season pass; day-of event parking is $10 without prepayment. Fans are encouraged to prepay before each game day deadline.
The Nittany Lions enter the weekend after sweeping Maryland last week, improving their overall record to 26-12 and holding a 7-5 mark in conference play halfway through the season. Freshman infielder Allison Oneacre has set a new program freshman home run record with 14 so far this year and is close to breaking additional single-season records for both home runs and runs batted in.
Northwestern arrives under head coach Kate Drohan with a season record of 17-18 overall and a conference mark of 5-7. The Wildcats have performed best in neutral-site games but struggled on the road this year. Offensively, Emma Raye leads Northwestern with eight home runs, while Marina Mason anchors their pitching staff with an earned run average of 2.43 over more than eighty-nine innings pitched.
Historically, Penn State holds a record of fifteen wins against fifty-six losses versus Northwestern since their first meeting in 1992. The Nittany Lions seek their first win over the Wildcats since taking two games during their inaugural season at Beard Field in May of 2011.
